Assalamualaikum (Peace be unto you)! It is an absolute pleasure to welcome you all to the website of the Muslim Doctors Association. All of us have worked very hard to produce this site and we hope for it to become a valuable resource for doctors, dentists, health professionals and for the students of all these disciplines. What is the MDA? Firstly, it is a not-for-profit organisation consisting at present of over 1800 members. Our primary aim is to promote health education to the Muslims of the UK by doing health awareness seminars in mosques. We speak on topics such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol and mental health, to name but a few. We also organise educational events for the medical students of London and we have provided examiners for the Imperial College mock 3rd Year OSCE and are aiming to hold more such events. It is also a networking association for the medical profession and we aim to be a voice for the Muslim medical professionals on health issues for Muslims in the UK.
